Hey... It's a miracle! A update.

Well...

Hurricane Katrina Mini-Golf Fundraiser:
We did end up holding our mini-golf thing on Saturday Sept 10. I was the scorecard guy but due to the weather, I only had about 4 scorecards to add up. It was cool however cause people were still spending money on draw tickets and food. All of a sudden the phone rings and it's... HILARY DUFF! (Just kidding, LOL) It was CityTV. So we all ran back out in the rain to go play. They interviewed Mom and Chantal and Shelby and we were all background. It was cool because I was still on TV.

Melissa O'Neil Rally:
On Wednesday, The City of Calgary is hosting a Melissa rally at the Roundup Hall B. If I get tickets, I am going! It's going to be awesome! I will get to hang out with so many Melissa fans! Some people from idol-nation.com and www.idolforums.com will probably show up. They want to you to wear red & white and a cowboy hat. The following is the CTV statement regarding it:

Toronto, ON (September 9,2005) - CTV and the City of Calgary announced today that the Roundup Centre will host a rally for Canadian Idol Top 2 finalist Melissa O'Neil next Wednesday, Sept.14.

Two-Hour Season Finale to Air Live in Calgary at 6 p.m. on CTV (This is in bold)

The rally will be featured in live segments of the two-hour Canadian Idol season finale. While thousands are expected to attend the rally to show their support for O'Neil, millions of viewers from across the country will witness the hometown pride that has thrust O'Neil onto the national stage. Doors open at 4:30 p.m. and the audience must be seated by 5:30 p.m.

CTV also announced today that the blockbuster Canadian Idol finale will air live on CTV in Calgary from 6-8 p.m. MT. The time change will allow hometown supporters of the 17-year-old singing sensation to witness live the results of the nation-wide vote that will decide O'Neil's fate. As a result, Calgary's Number One newscast will make way for the fantastic finale. Indeed, CTV's Barb Higgins will host the local rally for the national Canadian Idol broadcast.

Tickets to the Melissa O'Neil rally are free of charge and will be available beginning Wednesday, Sept. 14 at all Calgary Co-Op locations as soon as stores open. Tickets are available on a first-come, first-serve basis and are limited to four per person. Tickets must be picked up in person and are not available by phone.

The Melissa O'Neil Rally will be held in Hall B at the Calgary Exhibition and Stampede Roundup Centre at Stampede Park. Fans are encouraged to use city transit. As well, Melissa fans are encouraged to wear red and white and their cowboy hats and to bring signage and enthusiasm to cheer on Melissa.

O'Neil's performance on next week's expanded, 90-minute performance episode, airing Tuesday, Sept.13 at 9 p.m. on CTV, is this last chance to convince voters that she deserves to become Canada's first female Canadian Idol. The following night, the winner will be revealed at the end of a spectacular two-hour grand finale, live on CTV.

(That's all I printed, cause then it starts talking about Kalan and the song "Alive" etc.)

So that is the 411 on the rally! I am so excited to go.
I am sad that Canadian Idol 3 will be in the books but Season 4 is going to be great cause I can audition!! Yay me!

I found out that Dave Moffatt auditioned for CI3 and made it to Top 30. Dave Moffatt was obviously from "The Moffats". There is a sub-story that goes in here as well but I don't talk about that :-D.

I get to go!!! Yeah! Dad got the tickets! I hoping to see uncreative-name from idol-nation.com. I sent her a PM at break telling her that I am going and that I am wearing a Canadian Idol shirt and bringing a green sign that says "Melissa for Canadian Idol". I hope we meet. It would be cool. Maybe later I will send more of what I look like for a better chance.

I voted in the eTalk poll on idol.ctv.ca and Rex is leading the "Who should win" poll. I think it may be from before the show though and it is really close percentages. Melissa's performance was apparently really good and this is going to be a really tense finale.

I can't imagine what will happen in that room if she loses! (And the winner is Rex...) NOOOOO! That would be really horrible. I can't wait until tonight. Melissa's Monkeys will triumph over the Sexy Rexies! LOL! I am so excited, it's only 2:25! AHHHHH! I have never been so tense before a finale.

uncreative-name messaged me back... she has three signs and a yellow "Melissa is our Idol" shirt. I hope I see her but I won't be too focused on that.

Rally Aftermath...

That was really fun! I got picked up right after school and we all went to the Southland C-Train station after stopping real quick at A&W. We appeared to be the only Melissa fans there. A train came up and we saw it was a skin one, but Mom wouldn't run to the front of the train. We got on and everyone started staring at my cowboy hat with Melissa's Top 10 card on it. The guy in the seat across from us asks me if I know her. I shake my head and explain the rally for about the 20th time. He says that he went to Terry Fox School with her. So we ride and ride and we finally get to the Victoria Park station and finally, more Melissa fans! We go into the Plus 15 and go down the ramp after Chantal somehow gets distracted by a WestJet ad (Yes, Chantal got distracted by a WestJet ad, not me). Well we exit at Hall C and walk a short bit to Hall B. We give the lady our tickets and she asks me about the Melissa card on my hat. I explain that there are these Top 10 cards and it is hard to get a complete set but I have one. She gives me a Calgary tattoo and we walk in. There are chairs lined up in rows, and the banner from Pearson that says "Vote for Pearson's own Canadian Idol, Melissa O'Neil", as well as about 100 red balloons in a net for when she won. We then notice on every single seat is a pack of 5 Canadian Idol cards (oh let's hope Melissa is in mine!). So as we go on the seat hunt, we notice that the first about 10 rows are all reserved for Pearson students, VIP's, etc. We find a seat and we open the cards. I can't remember who I got in my first pack but I remember missing Amber and Emily. I got Mom's too and I was still missing Emily. It was really boring during the first part because Dr.Phil was on and so I started looking for uncreative-name. I looked around and I saw a girl wearing a "Melissa is my Idol" shirt so I went to go see if she was uncreative-name. I walked around the section of chairs and I said "Hi, you by any chance wouldn't happen to post on idolforums.com would you". She nodded and I then realized I said the wrong site, so I rephrased it to say Idol Nation and she said "Yes". So I said "I'm Kalan". She was like "Ohhh". So we showed each other our signs and she liked mine. She had this picture of Melissa's Dad Tim and it was funny cause it was signed by Tim and the pic was of Melissa and him. So we are talking and we tell each other our favorite international Idol's are and this guy comes up and gives her some picture of Melissa. It turns out that it was Melissa's grandfather. So after a while I go back and I notice Melissa's Mom Allison is being interviewed and stuff. Kids start asking her for autographs and I go up and get her to sign my shirt. Melissa's Mom is so cool. She was like "You want ME to sign your shirt"? I said "Of course" and I told her that we were all proud of Melissa and she thanked me. (The order of events is hazy because so much happened). The kids in front of us wanted to trade me Daryl for Melissa and I rejected the trade. I went back to talk to uncreative-name for a bit (I believe her real name is Kathyrin or something). They told us that they would be going to the 5:00 news. Someone was interviewing Melissa's Mom and we all went behind them and I started waving my sign and I couldn't figure out if I was on or not and I figured out that it was on a time delay so I was on, it just looked really weird. I also kept looking for more Melissa cards and Don, Joanne and The Coach came on and told us that they had some Melissa stuff to give away. It was really dumb because they used beach balls and people were like squished in the middle and it wasn't that great because I ended up squishing some little kid and my sign ripped. We then got moved up to the VIP section because they wanted the Roundup to look full. So we got some more cards. I figured out where the elusive Emily's were. They put them all on the right side of the room. It was cool because in the last half hour before the show, they showed all of Melissa's performances on the show since Top 32 (I think it was Top 32). So finally the show started and everytime Melissa came on screen we yelled. (I forgot... we also got another sign from one of the Pearson students). So during the first hour, I was running around and all of a sudden Tiffany is behind Mom! It was cool. So we all sat together. At 6:15 we were told that they would be going live to us after the break so we quickly got our pop and we ran back but it wasn't time yet. After the next break we filled up the middle aisle and me and Chantal made it to the front. When Ben said to Melissa that they were going to Calgary we freaked cause we saw ourselves! We cheered as loud as we could and Melissa looked shocked. Barb was trying to get Melissa and her Mom to talk but we started chanting "Melissa, Melissa" over and over. Melissa looked like she couldn't hear anything else. It was so crazy! After they left, I waited and said to Melissa's Mom "Sorry you couldn't hear your daughter". She said "That's okay". Now for some general things during the finale before the announcement... We cheered when Amber came on screen and when they did the parent tribute and we yelled really loud for Tim & Allison. I liked it when Sass sang and then Ben said "if you want to vote for Sass, dial...". The microphones going out was not good, although it was quite funny. Other then that the finale was very uneventful. Well, around 7:45 everyone started to go to the center again. We joined them and I ended up about not even 5 meters from Alison. They come back and Ben starts reading about the comments and stuff. Then he goes... "And the next Canadian Idol is... MELISSA O'NEIL"!! The room just erupted!!! We were jumping up and down and screaming as loud as possible. The balloons come down and we just start popping them. I notice that Melissa's little brother is crying and her Mom is going "She did it, she did it". Once she got over the shock, she got up on her chair and gave a big thumbs up and we all cheered and started a Melissa chant. They also came back to us celebrating! It was so cool! I have never been so excited. I was waving the finger Chantal got from Melissa's Mom and we were so happy. You could just feel the electricity in the air. We were all elated and proud for Melissa. We didn't even hear one word of her reaction or any of "Alive". I phoned the radio station today (Friday) and asked Don to play it but he said they just did but he would try to get it on later. That's what I'm doing right now listening for any sign of it on radio. I only heard Kalan's "Awake In A Dream" once on Lite 96 and Ryan, I never heard on any radio station. They are playing "Alive" at lunch. Sheesh, that's a while away. I got 18 Melissa cards at the rally.
How about Kalan & Ryan changing their looks. Kalan looks like a real rocker and Ryan.. well I'm not sure. eTalk was showing the wrap party, and Kalan (out of all people) was explaining that if you take off the underage wristband, you can go up to the bar. Kalan?!?!?!

"I Love Katamari" comes out in a few days. Yay, more Katamari goodness!

I made a incredible tribute video to Melissa on Saturday. It features a bunch of a performances and I can't believe how professional it looks. I put "Alive" on top and its so cool, I am waiting until break to see if it works at school. I'm hoping when you do it, it un DivX's it.

It worked like a charm!! :-D. I'm so proud of it. I'm going to be famous! :-P. Or not so much!

I had Chinese food yesterday at Bill's Peking House. (Hee hee, Billy's Peking House)! I had some Shanghai noodles, and sweet and sour pork and ginger beef.
I used chopsticka!

Billy told me to just told me to write down "Poking Fluff" for some insane reason, so I did it! :-D. I'm acting crazy today! Yay for me!

Billy's going to write something for my blog...

Here you go, Billy: Donkeys are cool and you need to change your socks. LA la la ala hahahahah bye mat may the force be with you.

Uh-huh... :-).

Anyway, I really need to focus on course work so in February, I am in a good area for Central Memorial. I don't really know what to think of this switch. Victoria was like "Central's 10 minutes from my house, why would you go there"? I have no idea its probably just where I need to go.

I'm in the quiet room right now and listening to LeAnne Rimes "Remember When". The celebration is almost over, and I'm sad. This is Disneyland's year. I guess I could be there for the 100th because I would be about 65, but I wouldn't like the rides I assume.

Anyway, I'm sort of getting into a fight with Billy because this girl came into our room and he is just so freaking focused on her, and he wants me to be all supportive and even create situations for him to be alone with her. He claims that he would do that for me. Whatever. He ticked me off even more when I was trying to grab my English and he automatically assumed I wanted to sit at the back table and he went "No". This is so freaking stupid, I've been his best friend in this school for years and I'm going to be ditched for a girl? This isn't about certain things anymore. It's about friendship. You don't throw your friend out because you have feelings for a girl. It's shallow. Guess this will teach me about trust and what to look for in a friend. I can't grasp it. I feel betrayed. If regular high school turns out this way, I'm dead. My stomach hurts. I think of all the fun times we've had and its not cool.

I got to go to the Flames first appearance at the Dome since the lockout. It was cool and I got to be on the JumboTron! I have now been on the JumboTron at all Calgary sports teams. I was on the Stampeder one at a game with Amanda (cousin), I believe it is described in the blog. The other one I know is in here and that was when we were at the Roughnecks game! (Oh yeah, Mary-Anne and Kaleb are engaged! Yay!). So, we got really good seats in the Avison Young Club. It wasn't a box but they were worth $170 at least. The Plexiglass broke with 3 minutes left in the first period. It was freaky, I thought it was going to fall on someone. They called the period and played it right after the intermission. I was so confused, so I kept asking Shawn what happens now. He kept telling me. I saw Jodie's brother making his return as a Calgary Flame, and he's really good. So, the Flames are back! Yeah!

The stupidity of Employee Pricing on cars is almost over! Thank goodness.

I read something in Ashley's J-14 magazine that there will be a show called Celebrity Idol this fall. Can you say "Jump the shark"?

Did anyone else see the jetBlue plane landing at LAX?
Yikes! WestJet is helping with the Hurricane Rita evacuation and is launching flights to Hawaii. I was at the hockey game when it happened (the jetBlue plane) and I saw a plane in one of the boxes TV and I was a little confused about the fact that there was a big plane on the screen.

I get to go back to Disneyland in 2006! Yay! Tower of Terror here I come. I will also make sure to go on Buzz Lightyear because that ride seems really fun and I can help out some of the home players (hopefully). A sad thing is me standing outside Millionaire shaking my head and saying "Why, why"? I can use my flight credit too but I didn't get the instructions from WestJet so I hope Mom or Dad do.

I took the Motorola's from the house and I didn't know this but the cottage has the exact same ones! Oops! I have no clue what channel to put it on though. I have got some interference but not alot.

I found a very good website called Wikipedia, and its URL is http://en.wikipedia.org ! It's a really good online encyclopedia and it has everything you could possibly want.

I'm waiting for a replacement iPod shuffle right now because I gave up on figuring what is wrong with mine. i hate Apple so much. Well, not so much Apple but the whole AppleCare part of it.

I went to a play with the school yesterday, the play was called "The Miracle Worker". It was about Helen Keller and Annie Sullivan. It was really good except for the first act taking absolutely forever. I got a Oreo ice cream sandwich thing at intermission. Billy bought me a Coke too. I also found the only playbill lying around. The girl who played Helen was really good. She is only 10. It was really fun and it always is. I told the usher about dancing on the stage. She thought that was kind of cool.

Well, this has been going on for eons. :-). So anyway this weekend, I subscribed to a few Podcasts to see what all the fuss was about. I fell on one called "Lets Talk About Disney". In it they obviously talk about Disney, so I e-mailed them to figure out if maybe they would interview me.

After several hours of no answer, I figured out another way to contact them. I clicked on the "Online" icon on the website and nothing happened. I saw a banner above for something called Skype and it matched the symbol. So I downloaded it and I swear, it was a phone! I set up my account and then when I found Lets Talk About Disney in the directory, it said "Calling". Then it rang and I got a voicemail. So I left a really dorky voicemail using my microphone and then 1 min later I got a IM on Skype from them. I am going to Skype them back on Friday even though I got it on the computer in the library. I know, weird. I got a e-mail from them when I went to the library last night. Jana wants my Mom and Dad to give permission to use Skype.

Anyway, I was singing Alicja's songs last night in the lounge and Nicole asked me if I knew what they meant in English. I said no, but I decided to phone up Dominika and ask her. The conversation was quite amusing. (But then again, she always was). I got Dean first and then he gave me to Dominika. Here's some of our conversation in script form...

Dominika: Hello, Matthew.
Matthew: Hey, surprise.
Dominika: Well, didn't I just see you today?

Matthew: I need your Polish skills.
Dominika: Is this about the Polish Idol?
Matthew: Yes. I have two songs I need translated.
Dominika: Are you going to sing them for me?
Matthew: No (laughing).
Dominika: Come on, you were always a good singer, you had your machine.
Matthew: Karaoke machine?
Dominika: Yeah.
Matthew: (sings this part from Hey Jude) Na,na,na, nananah.
Dominika: (laughs). Okay, so what are they called?
Matthew: You want me to read them out?
Dominika: Let's see how good your Polish is.
Matthew: How bad do you want me to butcher your language?
Dominika: Well lets find out.
Matthew: zee-bud-zil-am see.
Dominika: What?

I then proceed to spell it out.
Dominika: OK. Um, (says something totally different then what I said). That's like waking up. What's the other one?
Matthew: zee-me-en see-bee.
Dominika: (once again, something totally different). That's like Changing yourself. Are you wanting the whole song?
Matthew: Dear God no. I was just singing it and someone wanted to know the titles in English.
Dominika: Well, now you have to sing it for me.
Matthew: Fine... um, (starts singing in Polish).
Dominika: I kind of got it. Something about walking down the street. Sing the other one now.
Matthew: (Sings other song)

That was the main part of it. I found out today that the little bugger put it on speakerphone when I was singing. Thanks Dominika!

Anyway, its October 4th and Melissa's "Alive" is out! I phoned VIBE and talked to Miss Ange who is my favorite DJ and asked her to do me a favor for my birthday and play it. She said she would, but she seemed grumpy for some odd reason.

Japanese Village soon! Yes! I love that food.

Rihana is @ Cowboys tonight. Chris from Room 5 works there at night and he actually booked the concert and he is going to get her autograph for me. All I know about her is the song "Pon De Replay" and I guess the song I am listening to right now, which I had never heard of.

One day until da B-Day! :-P. I still haven't got my autograph. Kris has memory problems. :-D. I really need to get this updated to my blog! The last one was in Sept.

Okay, we are off to Calaway Park.

Now before I write about Calaway's debacle of a last day, let me take this opportunity to tell you how much this cottage sucks! Once again another restitution plan for something really stupid. I got a TO for over reacting on having to re-shower because I didn't use shampoo... but I'm tired of beating it into the ground so here goes Calaway Park's Closing Day 2005!

Wait... I had a bir- (See this takes forever on a AlphaSmart) The rest later....
